OMGCLASS! O_O! ^_^_^!!

That is it’s official name from here on out. Yeah, the schedule says something about ‘Literacies For Success’, but that’s just because they don’t understand what’s actually going on. The fact of the matter is that it’s a little nova-chamber for stars working up the nerve to ignite. Well, that’s how I see it anyway ^^

The teacher started us off by standing at the front of the room – and informing us that she had brought crackers, cheese and cookies for all of use to partake of. Her plans for this class are to make it a bit non-standard. She then sat down at one of the desks with us and started discussion.

She asked us what we wanted to do with our time. And we spent almost the entire class period doing just that. It was about taking the skills we have, learning new ones, and making them useful and applicable to real situations that we are dealing with. After most everyone had added something, she checked her list and confirmed that we had mentioned everything she had down, so we were right on track.

If it isn’t already obvious, let me explain why this class just rocks my world ^^ The teacher is asking us to take what interests us, to research, write, and present on it – with her and the rest of the class as a haven to prep, rework, and perfect our efforts. She’s given us permission – to do the very best we want to, with all the aid we could need to achieve it.

And our grade for the class? That will be determined when she reviews the portfolio of material we have prepared and created through the course of the class. Means I’m going to have to work my butt off, but somehow I really don’t think I’m going to mind ^_^!
